Systemceram Special

End of 2006, Steendam has started a cooperation with the German company Systemceram, producer of ceramic worktops and sinks. With this step, Steendam has added another high-grade product programme to it’s product range.
In this newsletter we like to introduce the company Systemceram and inform you about their methods of production. The manifold application options of these products may hopefully inspire you to come up with new ideas and solutions for your lab furniture.

Production

SystemCeram GmbH & Co. KG is born out of the former company KCH Keramchemie. This company, based in Siershahn (Germany), has produced ceramic products for laboratories and kitchens for decades. systemceram_logo.gif
Nowadays around 140 employees are working on a 20.000m2 manufacturing site to meet the increasing demand for these products.
Over the past decade, SystemCeram has invested heavily in it’s methods of production, whereby production is now for the greater part automated. This guarantees a constant quality of the products and reduces tolerances in dimensions to an absolute minimum. It also offers an enormous flexibility to produce according to customer’s requirements.
Systemceram products belong to the top segment in the field of ceramics for laboratories and kitchens. The products are distributed via specialized distributors.

Material   38_0022.gif

After drying and milling, the chemo-technical stoneware is fired at a temperature over 1200°C, which results in stoneware of exceptional density and load-bearing capacity.
The products comply with all requirements of DIN 28062 (table of materials 1.1.4).
SystemCeram stoneware is resistant to all acids, with the exception of hydrofluoric acid and fuming sulphuric acid (Oleum).
Cutting, scratching, bumping… the special quality of the basic material in combination with the particular characteristics of the glazing  allow it to withstand all these kind of mechanical attacks.
The worktops are extremely resistant to thermal exposure. This is demonstrated, for example, by using a bunsen burner on the worksurface. This thermal attack will not affect the worktop.

KeraLab Laboratory WorktopsCollage_quer_labor.jpg

SystemCeram distinguishes itself from other suppliers in the almost unlimited flexibility in production and design. The CAD-controlled milling technology enables SystemCeram to produce high-grade individualised end-products. Within the maximum dimension of 2000x990mm, all kinds of dimensions, cut-outs, raised levels etc. are possible.
To create larger surfaces, several worktops can be combined. The parts will be pre-assembled and checked on fitment before they leave the factory.
The KeraLab worktops and standard modifications can be found on our website.

KeraLab Laboratory Sinks  48_6331_A1.jpg

An extensive  range of sinks makes the KeraLab range complete. The sinks can be combined with KeraLab worktops or can be fitted under worktops of other material. A lot of different dimensions and designs are available to meet everyday laboratory requirements.
All available dimensions and designs can be found on our website.
